10%

Tzuri dragged me to see the ruins of an old historic church in Sheldon, SC.

Then while I was taking pictures, she left a tithe of 10% on the lawn.

Diamond in the Rough

It wasn’t easy to see, but I spotted what I thought was a growth way on the back of Tzuri’s tongue.

She hates Vet Clinics but Dr. Stephanie Montor gave her an anesthetic and when she looked inside Tzuri’s mouth, it was not a tumor or any kind of growth, just a spot of dark pigmentation.

A second injection reversed the sedation and we went home. Tzuri slept for 8 hours. She had fasted since yesterday so her appetite was enormous. I took her downtown to her favorite waterside park tonight, pictured below from the day before.

But Tzuri hasn’t forgiven me yet. All she did was grumble and pout.

Private Space, Public Place

Tzuri misses the mountains and the West Coast but sheΒ is quite adept at finding play areas in crowded cities.

She has a touch of arthritis now, and I have to lift her into the car, but she’s still got game.

Cadaver Dog

Tzuri just found her first corpse and wants to know if she’s eligible for a certificate of some sort.

The body was clearly visible in the bushes behind Hancock Whitney Bank, not 50 yards from our apartment.

I called 9-1-1. After the emergency operator had asked me the same mundane questions three or four times, I hung up on him. He even wanted me to go over and assure the corpse that help was on the way!

I did not see the man’s face and did not turn him over. But he was obviously deceased with flies swarming and, in our high humidity, a telltale smell.

He might have been in his 60s. The watch on his wrist seems to rule out robbery. The blood on the back of his arm and hand – I did not look on the other side, not wanting to disturb a crime scene – leads me to think possible suicide.

Viewer discretion is advised with the video below.

Although, out of respect, cell phone video of the corpse – which I was shooting surreptitiously while talking to the cop – is taken from a respectable distance, and no identifying features are visible in the one still image.

😦 😦 😦

‘Tzuri was here”

Tzuri has enrolled in a sidewalk art class.

When she masters chalk, she wants to try spray paint.

Birthday Girl!

We took a day trip to Tampa to celebrate her 5th birthday. She wanted to play on this rock overlooking the water. I think she thought it was decorated like a birthday cake.

Good thing she can’t read the graffiti.
